The Business Academic Exchange is a forum for industry professionals and researchers to address complex business challenges.

The forum was created to foster this conversation in preparation for the AMCIS 2011 conference held in August 4-7, 2011 in Detroit, Michigan, as well as to extend the interaction post conference.

Business Academic Exchange International's mission is to engage researchers and practitioners in a constructive dialog to define global business challenges and help develop select partnerships to generate testable solutions. This mission is accomplished using multiple exchange and engagement forums.

The mission translates into the following objectives for BAEI:

  • Seek answers to probing questions posed at various executive and/or academic presentations and/or briefings
  • Develop focused business challenges for in–depth faculty research over a period, in partnership with those posing challenges
  • Facilitate the discussion of research findings for constructive business executive feedback and seek opportunities for pilot implementation and testing
  • Encourage out of box thinking for feedback and follow-up and seek collaborators to explore the ideas further
  • Connect future workforce and educational communities with recruiting organizations for addressing talent needs in the market place
The inaugural BAE forum on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, will use five different modules to pilot each engagement type discussed, with the goal of BAE-I to sustain this type of interaction with partnering academic and business communities.
